Chesapeake is the third largest city in Virginia in terms of population. Chesapeake is one of seven Virginia cities that occupy the Hampton Roads region.

Comprised of residential neighborhoods, shopping, and business, Chesapeake is surrounded by the Cities of Portsmouth, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Suffolk. Nearby are forests and a substantial portion of the Great Dismal Swamp.

The city plays host to several annual festivals and other events. The Chesapeake Wine Festival attracts visitors from Chesapeake and beyond. The annual event showcases wines from around the world.

The City of Chesapeake was named one of the best places to live in America by MONEY Magazine. The city has also been recognized by Bloomberg for its quality of life.
