The City of Hampton Parks and Recreation is sponsoring the Hampton Black Beard Pirate Festival on June 1-2, 2024 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
Once a year, visitors from all over the country enjoy the sights and sounds of 18th century Hampton overrun by pirates.
During the festival, the Hampton Virginia waterfront will come alive with dozens of pirate re-enactors, costumed in historically accurate garb.
Led by Blackbeard the Pirate himself, re-enactors help visitors step back in time and re-live the history and legends of 1718 Hampton.
The Festival offers a variety of children’s activities, live musical entertainment, fireworks, period vendors, arts and crafts, and much more.
The 2024 Blackbeard Festival will include a fireworks display on June 1st from 9 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. The Coast Guard will be enforcing a special local regulation during these time for all waters of the Hampton River from Hampton River Channel Light 16 to the I-64 overpass.
Vessels may not enter, remain in, or transit through the special local regulation during this time unless authorized by the patrol commander. Mariners can contact the Patrol Commander via VHF-FM channel 16.
